While tens of thousands of potential students apply to each Ivy League university every year, only a handful get accepted.
Harvard University has the lowest admissions rate of all the Ivies, only taking 5.33% of students for the Class of 2019. This year, however, Columbia University overtook Yale University to become the second-most competitive school in the Ivy League.
Here are the admissions rates of all the Ivy League university for the Class of 2019, ranked from lowest to highest:
- Harvard University — 5.33%
- Columbia University — 6.1%
- Yale University — 6.49%
- Princeton University — 6.99%
- Brown University — 8.49%
- University of Pennsylvania — 9.9%
- Dartmouth College — 10.3%
- Cornell University — 14.9%
However, Stanford University — which is not in the Ivy League — remains the most selective university in America, with a 5.05% admissions rate for the Class of 2019.
