Most of the time, if people get sick such as fever, sore throat, coughs, and stomachache, they take some medicines. One of the medicines which is given by the doctor is antibiotic. Treatment of antibiotics should be noticed to reach the goals of body’s recovery. The causes of illnesses which are cured by antibiotics are bacteria and fungi, not by virus. So, we should notice about the cause of our illnesses.

Antibiotics are types of medicines known as antibacterial. They are used to treat infections caused by bacteria such as tuberculosis, typhoid, meningitis, syphilis, etc. the infections caused by fungi can also be healed by using antibiotics. The first antibiotic, called penicillin was found by Alexander Fleming on 1928. He found it unintentionally while he forgot to clean up the tools which he used before. He found fungi on the tool with “clean” spot around them. Then he observed more about it to discover the cause of fungi growth inhibition. Modern inventions of antibiotics were developed afterwards.

Antibiotics can destroy or inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. It will stop bacteria’s reproduction of kill them. There are many types of antibiotics, they work in one of two ways: as bactericidal, which kills bacteria and as bacteriostatic which stops bacteria from multiplying. Antibiotics have to be used correctly because there is a risk that the bacteria will become resistant or the antibiotics will be no longer effective against bacteria. The resistance of bacteria is really serious case that should be avoided.

We have to be careful and concern about using antibiotics. It is important to remember completing the whole course about using antibiotics. It aims to prevent the infection from coming back. If the whole courses are not completed, it may cause the high risk of the resistance of bacteria for future treatment. So, we have to complete the course even though we already fell well. And the other important thing about antibiotics is we should take the antibiotics based on their time interval. For example, if the prescription shows for taking antibiotics 3 times a day, it means we have to consume them every 8 hours a day. This instruction helps us to lower the bacteria resistance.

Antibiotics should be consumed correctly with great attention. Do not ever underestimate of taking antibiotics because it can cause the resistance of bacterial which causes uncured infection by the same antibiotics.
