Working Professionals Graduate from UNC Kenan-Flagler Executive MBA Programs

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School graduated 102 working professionals from its Evening and Weekend Executive MBA Programs on Oct. 26, 2014.

The top-ranked Executive MBA Programs provide a world-class curriculum and emphasize career and leadership development.

“These graduates embrace the UNC Kenan-Flagler values of excellence, leadership, integrity, community and teamwork,” said Atul Nerkar, associate dean of Evening and Weekend MBA Programs and a strategy and entrepreneurship professor. “They have met the challenge of balancing academic success with career advancement. As graduates they will continue to apply their classroom learnings in ways that benefit both their employers and the communities they serve.”

Students in the program entered with an average of more than 10 years of significant work experience. Employers vary from large multinationals such as Fidelity, Siemens and Quintiles to local employers, including Sunrise and Maxpoint. Students travelled from across the United States to attend classes in Chapel Hill.

“Our graduates join an Executive MBA alumni base of more than 2,400 executives in leading institutions around the world,” said Nerkar. “We have had a positive global impact based on the work and geographic spread of our alumni and the senior positions they hold.”

William Wolf (MBA ‘97), managing director at Credit Suisse, addressed the graduates. Class speakers were Adam Gerdts, associate dean of advancement at UNC Kenan-Flagler, and Ben Falk of the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Graduates presented the teaching excellence award to Hugh O’Neill, Edward M. O'Herron, Jr. Distinguished Scholar and professor of strategy, and Adam Mersereau, Sarah Graham Kenan Scholar and associate professor of operations.
