The charts A and B show the share of the UK and Australian cinema market in 2001 and cinema admission in the UK and Australia from 1976 to 2006.

Write a report for a university lecture describing the information shown below.

The two diagrams illustrate at first the proportion among types of films screened in UK and Australia in 2001, and then how cinema admissions changed from 1976 to 2006, in the same countries.

The bar graph shows that in 2001 most of the films screened came from the US, being this class above 60% both in the UK and Australia. The percentages changed considering films from Australia, UK and other countries. In detail, UK films were the most screened in that country with more than 20%, whereas Australian films reached only 10% and other films remained at almost 4%. This trend was almost opposite in Australia, where Australian films were roughly at 2%, with UK films below 10% threshold and “others” up to almost 20%.

The line chart showed trends of cinema admission in the same two countries, presenting how from 1976 to 2006 UK had a higher amount of audience, compared to Australia. In detail, both tendencies were quite volatile through the period, with a substantial growth from 1985 to 2002. Before 1985 Australian trend remained stable, with minor rises and falls, where UK trend plummeted after an initial rise between 1976 and 1978. After 2002, both countries saw their tendencies stop growing, slightly decreasing until 2005.

Although the two diagrams show data related to cinema industry, the information presented don’t allow to develop further reasonings to compare trends or phenomena.
