Essay topics:

You have recently moved to a new house. There has been damage after you have moved into the house. Write a letter to your landlord explaining what has happened and ask him what you can do.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to bring your attention to the damages, observed by my just after shifting to house. I want to inform you about damages to avoid any future claims from your side and to provide necessary arrangements to repair them.

As per our agreement, I have shifted to the house on last Sunday. After required adjustment of my luggage and other items, when I finally started using the equipments, I noticed that dish washer was broken already. Furthermore, the pipeline to supply water in main washroom is also leaking. Broken window glass in the lounge area make the situation worst to live in the house. In addition, I am surprised to see that door at the main enterace do not have a lock, which makes me feel very insecure.

I have been staying here for only two days and situation has already become worst. There is a high probability to get some more damages in future. I was trying to call you but your phone is not reachable. I, therefore, request you to send someone to re-examine the house to identify other potential damages. I can arrange someone to fix the existing problems, provided you allow me to deduct the expenses from next month rent amount.

Kindly look into the matter as soon as possible to make my stay comfortable. Looking forward for your quick & effective response.

Yours faithfully,
Ashwani Jain
