The graph below shows the demand for electricity in England during typical days in winter and summer. The pie chart shows how electricity is used in an average English home.

The line graph demonstrates information about typical daily demand for electricity in winter and summer in England, while pie chart presents the consumption of electricity in various ways with different percentages in an average English home. By and large, in winter electricity consumption was double in comparison with summer. So, it is reasonable that the biggest use of electricity is dedicated to heating rooms and heating water.

To begin with, from the graph it can be clearly seen that demand for electricity is higher in winter rather than in summer. The consumption of electricity in winter was between 30,000 and 40,300 units and the largest amount of electricity was consumed between hours of 21 and 24. While on the other hand, this figure in summer fluctuated from 12,000 to 20,000 units of electricity, in addition from 12 o’clock to 15 o’clock demand for electricity climbed significantly.

It is obvious from pie chart that just over half of electricity (52.5 %) was used to heat rooms and water. The second greatest rate belonged to ovens, kettles, washing mashing with 17.5% of total electricity. Besides, the rest of electricity was used by others means such as, mass media, lighting, vacuum cleaners, food mixer, and electricity foods.
