The line graph illustrates the total amount of merchandise transfer by four distinct modes of shipment namely, Road, Water, Rail and Pipelines in united kingdom from 1974 to 2000.

Overall, the data reveals that aggregated products carried by road, water and train were surging during the period. Initially, in comparing from 1974 to 2000, road delivered a large amount of stock by 70 to 80 million tones respectively. While, Pipelines were minimal and grew cautiously over the period. But, after 24 years, pipelines proportion started to rise slightly with 21 million tones approximately.

Furthermore, Water and train shipment demonstrate an enormous erratic trend during the years. Primarily, in 1974 till 1978 their trend was almost constant by up to 40 million tones. In spite this, after every 4 years the water export and import business increased noticeably and reached peak by 60 to 90 million tonnes comprehensively. Nevertheless, the Rail delivering stock tones rapidly fluctuated from 1978 to 1994. But through 1998 it climbed to 40 million tonnes comprehensively.

To short, the line statistics depict Roads were the most significant mode of transportation in England. Whereas, other three modes sl progressed slowly in each period of 4 years.
