The table illustrates the different approach toward travelling vehicle by giving information about the average distance in year 1985 versus 2000 in England. The information of the table is categorized into eight means of travelling.

In year 1985, the same as the year 2000 the most appropriate vehicle for commuting is car. While English people in year 1985 did not like to travel much by taxi and in year 2000 they prefer not to travel by taxi or bicycle.

There are some dramatic and slight changes has happened during this 15-year period. The total amount of distance has about 2000 miles increase.
