The bar chart below shows the estimated percentage of car trips taken by drivers in 2005

The Bar Chart illustrates the approximate number of car trips made in 2005, by Male and Female drivers. The information provided is in percentage.

Overall, even though both men and women made the highest percentage of trips to work, comparatively, men made around 10% more trips than women . However, where men took more than 10% trips for recreation purpose, women took a mere 5% trips for the same.

Among men, the estimated car trips were highest for work purpose at slightly over 50%, followed by recreation and shopping at around 10%. Men made lesser trips to visit towns and attend courses (less than 10%). However the least trips were made to visit friends, banks and to run errands at around 5% approximately.

While women made the most car trips for work purposes at slightly less than 40% , shopping followed closely at a little less than 20%. Attending courses stood third at approximately 12%. This was followed by Running errands at 10% , banks and visiting friends (less than 10%). Visiting town and recreation was the least at less than 5%.
