The bar chart illustrates goods exported by Scotland to other regions of United Kingdom and to the rest of the world in 2014. Export products are categorized into nine groups based on different industries and units are measured in pound sterling.
Overall, exports within the UK accounted for smaller sectors compared to that worldwide in all industries mentioned with one exception. While the rest of the UK imported the majority of Scotland Chemical and Mineral products and the least of Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and mining services, other countries in the world aims at Scotland’s imports of Business Services and Financial, Hotels and Restaurant Services at the expense of Electrical and Instrument Engineering sector.
In term of Electrical and Instrument Engineering Industry, exports to the rest of the UK surpassed that to the rest of the world (4 and 2.3 billion respectively).
Nevertheless, in other industrial sectors, Scotland’s exports to the rest of the world considerably overweighed the counterpart to other regions pf the UK.
