Overall, the percentage of companies using social media increased regardless of size, except for the year 2015. Besides, large businesses presented much more frequently on social media compared to small and medium ones.
Among small and medium corporations, in 2012, about 27%% and 32% of them took advantage of social media. The figures rose to around 35% and nearly 50% in the next 3 years. In 2015, there are only 30% of small and medium businesses have social media presence. However, only one year later, the proportion climbed up to nearly 50% and 52% respectively.
In terms of giant businesses, in 2012, about 78% of them use social media for commercial purposes. The figure remained constant in the next 3 years but declined nearly 30% in 2015. After that, the figure surged and peaked at nearly 80% in 2016, 30% more than the proportion of social usage of small and medium companies.
