The pie charts represent that apart from English, the percentage of British pupils knowing different languages between the year of 2000 and 2010.
Obviously to find out, the number of students who do not speak other language was 30% in 2000, while there is a significant increase of 5% in 2010. In addition, it rose positively from 10% in 2000 to 15% in 2010 when students speak two other languages. Also, based on the British respondents at the university knowing another language, the number was 15% in 2000, and it goes up to 20% in 2010. Overall, the proportions has climbed up in those who speak their mother tongue, two other language, and another language.
On the contrary, the percentage of knowing Franch only has an identical decrease in 2010. It was 15 % in 2000, but 10% in 2010. Similarly, when 20% participants speaking Spanish only in 2000, there is mere 10% students in 2010. The number has dropped. Nevertheless, it is interesting to discover that the percentage of the respondents who speak German only remains the same in both 2000 and 2010.
