The given charts summarize information about how many students studying in universities in the UK, how much money each student was spent on as well as family's income status in the year of 1991.

According to the bar chart, the number of UK students enrolling in universities went on an upward trend over the years. Starting at over 1 million in 1991, the figure kept on climbing up gradually until reached its peak at over 2 million in 1999. However, in 2001, the number of students fell slightly back to 2 million.

In contrast, government's funding for each student decline over the period. From 1991 to 1993, a sharp decrease happened, making the amount of money dropped from 6500 pounds to less than 5000 pounds. From then on, the spending amount from government declined slightly until it hit the record low of only 4800 pounds in 2001.

In 1991, a majority of 60% of students came from medium-income households. Meanwhile, the proportion of students from rich families was 32%, 4 times as that of students coming from poor families.
