The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Given is a line graph shows the amount of water use in 3 sectors - agriculture, industry and homes around the world from 1900 to 2000. While the table below gives the information about the consumption of water in Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo in 2000.

As we can see in the graph, agriculture accounted for the largest proportion of water use ( around 500 Km) in 1900, but industrial and domestic water consumption only stood at a fifth of agriculture. However, water use of these three sectors kept increasing from 1900 to 2000, and respectively reached nearly 3000 km, exactly 1000 km and slightly below 500 km in 2000.

Taking a look at the table below which illustrates water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000. Because of there were 33 times more people in Brazil ( 176 million) than in Congo (5.2 million) as well as 265 times more irrigated, results in that per person in Brazil used 359 km water, while only 8 m in Congo.

To sum up, it's clear that global water needs increased significantly worldwide from 1900-2000. Especially agriculture from where vegetables derived.
