The graph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the number of goods delivered by four different means of transportation in the United Kingdom from 1974 to 2002. Overall, using the road for delivery was the main way while the pipeline was the least choice.
In 1974, the largest amount of commodities was conveyed on road, nearly 70 million tonnes, while half of these was delivered on water and rail, around 40 million tonnes. Compare to the number of goods which was transported by road, the use of pipeline was approximately one in ten.
From 1974 to 2002, the means of the highway had increased in most periods, besides slightly dropping for several years, but still reached the peak among the others, at over 95 million tonnes of goods. Similarly, pipeline use was more popular with the stable rise, which forth times in 2002.
Shipping by water and rail was the same start point at first, the former increased 10 million tonnes within 10 years, then stayed stably in 15 years before reaching 60 million tonnes in the end. In contrast, the latter dropped the same number during two decades, finally rising to the beginning.
