The bar chart illustrates the changes in the oil production capacity in millions of barrels per day in six countries between 1990 and 2010.

Overall, oil production capacity increased in all countries during this 20 years period. In addition, the figures for Saudi Arabia were higher than in others countries whereas the oil of production was lowest in Qatar.

From 1990 to 2010, there was a significant increase in oil production in Saudi Arabia. In 1990, Saudi Arabia produced over 8 million barrels per day and this rose rapidly, reaching the peak of over 14 million barrels per day. By contrast, the lowest oil producing nation was Qatar. The figure for Qatar remained at under 1 million barrels per day although in 2000 saw a slight increase.

Oil production capacity in Iran increased gradually from about 3 million barrels per day to above 4 million barrels per day in 2010. Although three different countries namely UAE, Kuwait, Iraq saw an increase in the production of oil between 1990 to 2010, the amount of oil produced reached under 4 million barrels in 2010.
