The graphs below provide information on global population figures and figures for urban populations in different world regions.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the world population growth since 1800 and how they will change in the future, while the bar chart shows the urban population figures of two regions since 2015 and how they are predicted until 2040.
Overall, as can be seen from the first graph, it is projected that the proportion of world population will see a slight fluctuation from 2020 to 2100. Another visible trend from the second graph, it is expected that the population of developing regions will tend to increase gradually in the next 23 years.
In terms of the line chart, the percentage of the world population was about 1000 million people in 1800, and it rose slowly to almost 2500 million in 1950. In the year 2040, the global population is predicted to witness a sharp growth and peak at over 8000 million people, and then decline to over 6200 million by 2100.
According to the bar graph, it is expected that the urban population of developed areas will remain unchanged at approximately 1300 million people over the next two decades. By contrast, in 2015, the developed regions’ population was around 2200 million, and it is projected to experience a gradual rise between 2020 and 2040, at about 2500 million and 4000 million people respectively.
