The line graph below illustrates the proportion of foreign visitors who visited four varieties of attractions in Brighton, England between 1980 and 2010. Overall what stands out from the graph is that pavilion and festival were the most popular, whereas art gallery and pier were the least popular among them.

Looking at the details, in 1980, the pavilion stood at 23% when the proportion increased rapidly over the next 15 years to hit peak at around 48% making it the highest percentage compared to other three temptations. Nevertheless, the rate dropped rapidly to just over 30% for the remaining period. Starting at 21% in 1980, art gallery followed the same trend as the pavilion. Although it saw a sharp increase in the next five years to 38%, the total numbers declined significantly to just 10% in 2010.

In contrast, appealings such as festival and pier followed opposite movements. Beginning the period at 30% festival represented the biggest proportion in 1980 among all other charming. However, there was steady drop in the number of sight seers to finish at around 28% by the end of 2012. Whereas at 10%, pier recorded by the lowest number of vacationists at the start of the period which was followed by some fluctuations and finally ending at just over 20% at the end of period.
