The maps illustrate the current Islip town centre and the visualisation of planned development of the town centre. Overall, it showed some significant changes that occured not only the road, but also to the countryside and public services.
Current Islip town centre still had countryside on the North of main road and shops along the main road. However, the countryside was planned to be demolished. In addition to that, the shops, which located in the Southern of countryside, would be replaced with shopping centre, bus station, car park, and there would be some left area, where the new housing would be built.
The main road would be removed and changed into a dual carriageway, which will circle the whole town centre, moreover, it would turned into pedestrian only along the town centre. The recent road was ended in front of the school and connected to the park. However, the park got reduced to half in term of size, and the road got connected between the school and park. The housing near the park would also relocate to near the school and new housing would be built replacing the previous residential area.
