The presented pie charts depict information about how much electricity was produced in Australia and France by various types of fuel sources classified into coal, oil, natural gas, hydro power and nuclear power over two separate years.

At first glance, it is very clear that coal was the main source for electricity production in Australia, whilst France used the nuclear power more in recent years to produce their electricity demand.

When observing the data in more detail, Australia produced 100 units of electricity in 1980 and 170 units in 2000 while the production in France was 90 units and doubled in the year 2000. Coal burning in terms of the provide electricity in Australia accounted for the most significant proportion 1980; it was one half of the total production and almost tripled in 2000. In comparison to proportions of natural gas and oil to make an energy in 1980, which comprised 20 and 10 units of total generating, respectively, but their share dipped substantially by 18 and 8 over the course of these 20 years.

With regarding electricity generation of France, the share of nuclear power was initially as low as that of natural gas (15 units), but while the former considerably surged almost eight-fold, the latter experienced a marked drop reaching 2 units. The contribution of hydro power had fallen minimally from 5 to 3 units in 2000.
