The table compares the proportion of six internet activities done by seven age groups. As is observed, there are noticeable differences in what internet uses of different ages do online.
Getting news is a popular activity among all ages, with each group contributing no less than 70% proportion. In contrast, figures for games decline steadily with the increase of age, the ratio starting from 80% teens and ending at a quarter of 50 and 60-year-olds, with a slight rise among age 70 group. Downloads displays a similar trends with less popularity, from 52% teens to 6% 70-year-olds.
Although the majority of all age groups do product research online, teens' activity do not involve it at all. They also seldom search for people but more than one fifth do it when growing older. Conversely, buying products account for a slight majority with 20 to 60-year-olds. Teens and the elderly, however, claim a proportion of 43 and 42 respectively.
