The table describes the percentage of consumer expenditure in five diferent nations in Europe expenditure for four kind of items every month.

Overall, it is clear that food, drink and housing make up the highest proportion and the lowest proportion of consumer spending goes on clothing and entertainment.

In five different countries, inhabitants of Turkey and Spain allocate a large amount of money on food and drink, with 36% and 31% respectively. In Uk, only 27% of income is spent on this category, compared to 25% by French and 22% by German. On the other hand,the percentage of revenue on housing occupies the largest figure of all five countries. In France, Germany and Uk, residents spend more than 30% of their total spending on this item with 31%, 33%, and 37% respectively. However, only 20% and 18% of income are spent in Turkey and Spain.

The proportion of wages that people spend on clothing and leisure are smaller. Expenditure on clothing, in France and Spain, citizens is only 7% and 8% respectively. Under 15% is the figure for other nations in this item. The percentage of entertainment ranges from 10% to 19% in these five countries
