Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.Write a letter to the local council. In your letter, you should give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre; you should explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community; you should describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

Dear Sir or Madam,

I was informed by my friend that the local council intends to close the sports and entertainment centre in this local area. I am writing this letter to suggest you to cancel this plan.

My friends and I play sports and participate in a variety of leisure activities in this centre frequently. For instance, I prefer to play badminton while my friends are likely to go to the gym on weekends. It is unquestionable that this centre plays an important role in mitigating our pressure and recharging our batteries.

The centre is also crucial to numerous local residents. First of all, it is the only leisure place in this area. People will have to travel a long distance to the urbane area to do leisure activities if the centre closes. In addition, the local residents also consider the centre as an indispensable part of the cultural legacy in this area, as it has been existed for many years.

If the centre is shut down, this will result in a frenzy of all local residents, as your action may severely interfere with our lives. As a consequence, the local people will never find out any other close and comfortable counterparts where they can spend time on leisure activities.

I hope that my suggestions will be of some assistance.

Your sincerely,

David Villa.
