I have once heard a lecture on TED talks, the topic is about traits of successful people. The lecturer mentions about eight traits that successful people may have such as passion, persistence, improvement but without luck. Therefore, I am personally agree with the video and the statement that hard work make people successful.
First of all, a good personality leads to success and hard work can cultivate such personality. We all human have bad habits or part sides of laziness. We can improve ourselves to become better ones by putting more efforts on changing ourselves. For example, some people like smoking and quit smoking is difficult for them. Most successful ex-smokers quit smoking because of their hard work. They do their best to resist the temptation and desire for smoking. Only if they determine their mind and work hard can lead them successfully quit smoking.
Secondly, knowledge is important for people to success and it can't not be acquired by luck. The accumulation of knowledge is depends on hard working. The more efforts you pay the more knowledge you get. For instance, my college is going to apply for top ten universities for master degree. The basic language requirements of these school are TOEFL score 100 or higher. He can only study hard to enhance his proficiency in English and work hard to meet the requirement.
Last but not least, hard work can provide a chance for what you really want. Take myself for example, I am interested in Spanish so I apply for the school course in learning Spanish. Since I am not the native-speaker, it is hard for me to pronounce correctly and speak well. Therefore, I have to pay more efforts and work harder in order to catch up with my classmates. I spend twice time on practicing speaking Spanish and I even search for the online-course to make up for my lack. Thanks to my hard work, I can communicate with Spanish now.
In conclusion, people success because of their hard work more than depends on luck. There are some requirement and temptation that can only rely on hard working. It is also why people should always improve and spur themselves.
