Company

Essay topics:

Company

The article states that working a four-day workweek for four-fifth of their normal pay would be beneficial for companies and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that it provides some negative conditions for company and society and refutes each of the author’s reasons.
First, the reading claims that this policy increase companies’ profits because the employees would feel more rested and alert. The professor refutes this point by saying that force more companies spend more money. He states that the company should pay the same health cost for working less and also the companies have to buy more office base and computers for workers.
In addition, the article posits that the companies would have fewer overworked and error-prone employees for the same money. However, the professor says that the workers might work more because the companies expect the workers to do their work truly and completely, although they have less time.
Finally, reading says that this idea reduces unemployment rates, whereas, the companies want to obtain enough profit, then they ought to employ more workers. The professor opposes this point by explaining that the employees may work a lot. Therefore, these conditions influence on their life and decrease pleasure and good feeling of a sufficient life.
