Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

The opinions of celebrities, such as famous entertainers and athletes, are more important to younger people than they are to older people.

Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

The social atmosphere of world society has changed, and the huge advances of mankind in communication, transportation and information technologies have played a significant role in emergence of globalization. This new era of modernization, and broad facilities, have emphasized the role of celebrities. It should be noted that this huge impact is more prevailing among juveniles, and literally is managed by commercial sector for increasing consumerism culture.

Younger people more use modern media and aspects of new information technologies, so they would be more the target of the consumerism culture which is led by celebrities. Today, all young people use modern technologies to contact with each other. They use their personal computers, cellphones, and other electronic devices to follow world news and fashions, famous people are at the edge of their attention. For instance, new fashion styles which are offering by celebrities are always trending. We can assess this impact by looking at the desire of Chinese teenagers to make themselves same as western models, with blond hair, and as thin as size zero fashion models.

As younger people have less experience in their life, they are more susceptive to what celebrities and famous entertainers propagate. Nowadays, the main source of social behavior in young peoples is celebrities. In contrast, older people rely on their personal experiences. For example, for buying a shoes, older people attend to the efficiency and comfort of shoes and they buy them from companies which have satisfied them before. On the other hand, younger people will buy shoes which have been used by celebrities, and could make them more stylish among their friends.

The content of celebrities' massages are more related to younger people according to advertising purposes of companies and social leagues. One of the major strategies in advertising is to affect children and younger people by using celebrities. Companies put a huge investment to use to produce advertisements especially for them. For example, car companies use some famous drivers to introduce their product. While young people are fascinated by celebrities, they will convince, or in some cases, compel their family to buy car from that company rather than its quality.

There is a close relation between the consumerism culture and reinforcing the concept of introducing some people as celebrities. This is an implicit trick which is used by companies more and more. It provides vast profit for them but will degrade some moral implications in society and rescue younger people to be so superficial and pedantic.
