In this set of material is discussed about the asthma condition. The listening refutes the reading passage owing to, it explains that narrowing is not a symptom of asthma, instead, narrow nowadays is known as a factor that cause all the asthma symptoms.
The reading passage point out the typical symptoms as re wheeze, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.. Is mentioned that during the episodes, the bronchioles become smaller and the airways are blocked thus, as a consequence of this condition, the lungs cannot be filled with air. Apart from this, is known two narrow patterns during an asthmatic attack: the first one is when the muscles squeeze the bronchioles or bronchi, the condition is known as bronchoconstriction and the other one, is when the structures are blocked by mucus because is formed a barrier and close the airways.
Contrary to the beliefs in the passage, is said in the lecture that narrowing is not a result from asthma condition, in other words the narrowing is cause of asthma, besides, according to currently researches, is most accepted this theory. In addition, the lecture explains the fact that the narrowing can be persistent or not, in other hand, there area two possible causes such as, genetics and sensitively to environmental triggers.
