In the reading author expresses three criticism that have been present by crises about memoir written by Chevalier de Seingalt however, in the lecture professor refutes all them and approve accuracy and reliability of these memoir by giving more clear evidences to solve unacceptable reason using by author to reject accuracy of memoir.
First, reading casts doubt about if he was a wealthy person or not?
author says Chevalier had borrowed a huge money of a merchant that this shows he need money. Professor expresses he had so many posses property and real estate but converting them to currency wasn't easy so he borrowed money for a short time until sold his asset.
Second crisis which author expresses is about accuracy of conversation between him and Voltair which have been written many years later by him. Author says those text are Chevalier's specter not real events. Professor says he always wrote everything they said at their conversation then conserve those notes for a long time until writing them as a book.
Finally, author says story of Chevalier's fugitive of prison by piercing ceiling using a metal isn't real because he had some political influence friend helped him to bribe jailers and be free. Professor states that there were other prisoner who had more powerful freinds but couldn't bribe to be free additionally some government report on that time shows his cell need repair that shows he make a hole in his cell.
