The reading and lecture are both about the sea otter populations in the Alaskan region which are reducing in the recent years. The reading states that pollution is the cause of the death of the sea otter. The lecturer rebuts the articles. She believes that predation has a serious effect on the decreasing the population of animals.

First, The reading mentioned that pollution such as oil rigs is cause of decreasing sea otters and Increasing chemical pollution infected the animals. The lecturer disagrees with the articles. She thinks that the assumption of chemical affection which is the cause of death of the sea otter has reduced because A lot of animal species could die. Also, She believes that hunting is the result of the reduction of the sea otter in the Alaskan coast.
