According to the article, increase cane toad population in Australia brings many detriment impacts therefore three solutions help to rids the cane toad population. However, according to the lecture, provides suggestions to blot out of the can toad population from Australia are unsuccessful and unwanted outcomes. The lecturer opposes the each solutions made in the reading passage.
To begin with, the lecturer argue the first solution made in the passage that national fences prevent moving toad to one side to another sides which not yet colonized area. He mentions that build a national fence is not affect the spread of the can toad because of stream and river through egg and young toads travelling to new area. Water of river and stream carry them to another areas.
Furthermore, the lecturer also refute the second suggestion made in the article that toad can easily capture and destroy by the volunteers and government campaign since many Australian people join this campaign. He explains that untrained people not distinguish between native frogs and young cane toads. As result, many native frogs destroy by untrained people.
Moreover, the article emphasizes that producing disease can control the toad populations. the virus effected only on the cane toad but not harm to other species. This virus inhibit maturing and reproducing of cane toads. The lecturer, in contrast, states that virus is negative impact on the American cane toad species because of many Australian species oy the transport in the central America and South America for researches. The viruses also spread their native species of the America, consequently, destroy the ecosystem of the America. Cane toad play vital role in the American ecosystem
