In this set of material, the article discusses three main theories to support the reasons why the carved stone ball were used as some purposes in the historic time, on the other hand the lecture casts doubt on the information which is presented in the reading section and believes that presented reasons are not convincing enough.

First of all, the reading section makes point that instinct people might used the carved stone balls for hunting because they have holes regarding to this purpose. In contrast the constructor claims that hand huntting stuffs such as axes would have been cracked or broken down because of use in the passage of time, however surface of the carved stone ball are wholesome. In fact, she elaborates by saying that their surface which are without any damage indicates that they were not used as hunting.

Second, the professor disagrees with the idea that carved stone balls were used as the first system of weights. In fact, she cites the results of survey to highlight that they were not produced of uniform material, since every material has different density and their density is not uniform, they would not be used as weight and measurement system. Especially, she explains what is their material and clarify her claims.

Finally, although the passage demonstrates that the carved stone balls were used as social purposes, the speaker posits that it is not convincing because some of these stuff have intricated and perplexed design, while other ones are too simple to have any application in the routine life. In addition, she adds that in the past time everyone especially high-ranking people were buried with all of their possessions, whereas any stuff has not found in the temples or graves. Since she strongly believes that the stone balls did not use as social purposes.
