How to live before you die. Speaker: Steve Jobs.

Essay topics:

How to live before you die. Speaker: Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs started his speech with providing three empirical stories.
He named the first story as “connecting dots”. The story began how Steve was given up by his mother to other wealthy family who would be able to afford his college in the future. 17 years later, he went to a college which was as expensive as Stanford. Nevertheless, he dropped the college after six-month studying due to the fact that he had felt he was not getting anything from the classes. Then Steve embarked a calligraphy class, where he learnt exquisite typography. Eventually, what he learnt at the calligraphy class helped him to design first Macintosh computers. Thus, the speaker concluded that we do not know what lies ahead and what is meant for what we do; therefore, Steve advised that we can connect dots only looking back, not looking forward.
The story began how he was fired from Apple, the company which he founded, and the story called “love and loss”. He was dismissed by the board of directors from the job because Steve did not share the same viewpoint about the future of the company with his co-executive manager. However, the incident gave him new prospects, particularly, he founded two successful companies named Pixar and Next, also he found his wife. Later, Steve returned to his initial company since Next was purchased by Apple. Next was like a renaissance for Apple enhancing the company with new innovations. He concluded we have to keep looking what we love; he implied work by saying love. The bottom line of this story, as far as I understood, we should love what we do and that can become something great.
His final story was about death so was the story named. Steve asserted death is the best creation ever since it clears the old giving way to a new. Therefore, he urged to listen to own inner voice and do not let anyone eclipse it as our time is limited. Also, at this part Steve Jobs’s the most famous quotation was said: “Your time is limited so do not waste it living someone else’s life”. I was so impressed when I heard the statement first time as it inspires to find your true personality and to discover your advantages.
