Hi, does anyone know how much the use of less appropriate word affects the essay score?
Let's say for example, the use of the word 'acquire' in the following sentence is unusual, but i want to use a wide range of vocabulary:
Parents want their children to acquire better achievement than their friends in school.
Will less appropriate use of word push my score down regardless the wide variety of words used in the essay?
