Those who aspire to pursue undergraduate programmes abroad may not have to go to other cities to appear for Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) as Oakridge International School will be the official test centre for Andhra Pradesh.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Friday, school director Avneesh Singh said that the school management has the necessary criteria to be selected as the first test centre for the entire State. “Candidates from across the country can approach the centre which has been coded as 63337 for the test. Earlier, students have to either opt for the centres located in Hyderabad or Bengaluru. Now, they can save the travelling time and concentrate more on the subjects relating to the test,” he said.

Later, the staff said that the forum was open to the intermediate students of all streams who aspire to take up both regular and unconventional programmes abroad.

The first schedule of the test would be held in December according to the guidelines laid by the international standards. Apart from literacy, critical, analytical and reasoning skills, students would be graded on their command over core subjects. Centre head for pre-primary branch of the school Fatima Omar, branch development manager Satish and Rotary Club Visakha Port City president P.L.K. Murthy launched the poster of the new centre.
