Scholarship Description: The Nottingham Trent University (NTU) UK is pleased to offer a wide range of scholarships for international (non-EU) students starting a course in September / October 2013. Among these are scholarships specifically for Africans.

The University is delighted to offer the NEW Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship – a £10,000 scholarship for an African student starting a course at the University in September 2013. The Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity which will help get your time at NTU off to a great start. You will work with the school’s social media team to tell students about your time at NTU through Facebook and blogs. 

Eligibility: This is a competitive Scholarship. Selection is based on academic attainment and the quality of your personal statement and Facebook post.

If you are an African student and receive an offer to study a course at NTU for September 2013 entry you are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

Eligible groups: Citizens of any African country

Participating Institutions: Nottingham Trent University, UK

Fields of study: All courses of study offered at the university are eligible

Sponsorship duration: This is a one-time financial aid

Scholarship benefits: £10,000 scholarship for an African student starting a course at the University in September 2013

The winner of the Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship will become an ambassador for NTU. Being an ambassador means you will support the International Development Office (IDO) by providing advice and information for other students interested in studying at NTU. You will work with our social media team to tell students about your time at NTU through Facebookand blogs. You will even get the chance to join the IDO at some exciting events here in Nottingham.

Method of Application: STEP 1: Complete the International Development Office Scholarship application form and personal statement.

Download the scholarship form at www.ntu.ac.uk/internationalscholarships – please indicate that you are applying for the Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship on the application form.

Email the completed form and any supporting documents to international@ntu.ac.uk by 30 April.

STEP 2: Write a post on NTU Facebook page telling why you have chosen to study at the University. Your post should be no longer than 20 words and should start with, ‘I have chosen NTU because…’

Post this on NTU Facebook page by 30 April at www.facebook.com/nottinghamtrentinternational.

Please email the university at international@ntu.ac.uk to let them know when you have done this.

DEADLINES: The deadline to apply for the Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship is 30 April 2013. Any applications received after this date will not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: Please complete all steps of the application process by 30 April 2013.

If you have already applied for an International Development Office scholarship for September 2013 entry, you do not need to complete the scholarship application form again. Please email international@ntu.ac.uk to let them know that you want to apply for the Brenda Howe Africa Scholarship and then complete step 2 of the scholarship application process.
