Essay topics:

Technology is rapidly developing day by day to make life easier and more engaging. Even though many people think all those inventions, especially the communication ones has many negative impacts on the daily life of people such as it threatening the language, I think pros of it outweigh the cons. Also, I do not agree with that the e-mails and the text messages are destroying the language at all.

To begin with, most people use e-mail to switch formal letters, not to chat with friends because e-mail is more complicated than the other applications such as Messenger. Moreover, writing tons of e-mail is a really good practice of formal written language. Because most crucial letters and proposals sent by e-mail, a person who sends it must be good at grammar and vocabulary in order to give a great impression for the person who read their letter. I am a typical teenager who chats with my friends a lot on the internet and I can be the best example on it. I only send an e-mail to the college I am interested in or someone to get an advice. Because those e-mails are crucial for my life, my mail must be mistake free.

Furthermore, even though the text messages shortened from the actual one to save time, it does not change the structure of the sentence. Because the structure is vital for the reader to understand, it must remains the same at all time. In every language, the little changes can alter meaning considerably. For instance, if we try to explain the event that happened in the past, people need to use past tenses of English to give the right picture to the person or people who read it.

All in all, the main purpose of e-mail and the text message are to communicate effectively with each other, not to destroy the language. Also, those technologies do not damage the language because it only shortens the words.
