Growing up as a child, I have always been people oriented and as such I understood the implications of any action or inaction in relations to how it affected the people around me.
I am passionate about organising activities and events. The perfect opportunity to enhance my skills showed up.
It was the end of a tenure and time for a new departmental leadership to be elected into offices. I knew this was my chance to apply my leadership skills to foster the growth a nd development of my department, so I bought a form for the office of Director of Socials.
So after I won the office, been a sociable person I made myself more approachable to students. This made me understand there views and expectations of my office. I had analyze things and in respect to the students I lead and to do what my office required in the real sense of a director of socials.
I began to orgnize meetings with other departmental excos and with the students on how to come up with events that were socializing yet intellectual and educating.
I came up with a program that will be continue annually even after my graduation titled 'Link-Up'
This is a program set for three basic reasons to enlighten students on 'Youths in Politics' 'Maximizing your Purpose and potentials' and Youths as a tool for peace and Nation Building in Nigeria'.
We made this work through team work and invited public figures in each field to speak and inspire students as worthy examples.
We made it more interesting by bringing some celebrities to spice up the event.
At the end of it, the program was successfully achieved maximally.
It is worthy of note that it still continues annually as I was invited to grace this occasion even after graduating.
I had some challenges carrying this out which is a good experience for no one sets out for a thing without oppositions. Some of them were financial, ungrounded oppositions, mistrust, disappointments and so on.
But at the end of it all it was achieved with determination and team work with people who believed in this course and still has it at heart
