THE MOEVMENT OF PEOPLE FROM AGRICULTURAL AREAS TO WORK IN CITIES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS IN BOTH PLACES. WHAT ARE THE SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND WHAT MEASURES CAN BE TAKEN TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS?
It is true that migration of people from rural areas to urban area is leading to many problems for both. The following paragraphs are going to explain about the cons of this trend as well as the solutions to tackle with them.
This migration is disadvantageous for cities in many ways and the first one is inflation. For example, the high demand of living in city is responsible for the rise in the prices of rental apartments and to buy a property which has increased almost by 5% between last 1 years. Secondly, it is reducing the employment chances for the local people as the more population increases also inclines the number of candidates for job search in the city. On the other side, it is equally unfortunate for rural areas as well. The primary effect is on the farming as there are few people left in the villages who are willing to continue farming as their carrier which is directly affecting the scarcity of food. Apart from this, it is also having an adverse effect on the lives of poor people living in those rural lands because their livelihood is dependent on agricultural or other rural activities somehow. For instance, in Punjab, state of India, most of the lower grade people work in the harvest seasons to fulfil the needs of their own and family.
The main idea to solve this issue to some extent is to provide those people with all the amenities which are the reasons of this phenomenon, such as, better transportation system so that they can travel to their job destination easily , opening some hospital or reliable education system. If these things are easily available to them then they might not feel the need to move to another city for their regular needs.
In conclusion, I reiterate that this trend of people moving from less developed territory to towns is giving birth to so many another difficulties for both sides but it could be improved for fulfilling the requirements of countryside people who might be moving to cities just for their daily needs.
