After working in your department for over 3 years, you feel the need to switch your department. Write a letter to your boss requesting a change in the department. In the letter mention:
Why do you want to switch department
Which department would you prefer
Why do you think you are a good fit in that department
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to appeal you to alter my current work division. Since I have been serving water resources section for 3 years now, I have gained tremendous experience related to water resources management and therefore would like to work in another sector.
My preference would be to contribute in flood forecasting center in fast-paced environment along with learning from senior engineers presently working in that division. Additionally, I am eager to gain peak flow forecasting skills to broaden my horizon.
I am quite confident that a combination of my educational an professional background will make me an ideal member of the flood forecasting team. Further, recently I have undergone an Internship at flood forecasting division of Manitoba Infrastructure that inculcated competent skills in me such as working in result-oriented environment and adhering to deadlines.
I would be really grateful if you consider my request of changing departments.
Your sincerely,
Nita Singh
