Nowadays fathers play a more important role in bringing up their children. Why is this the case? What is its effect?
We live in a fast-paced world where notions and ideas change at a breakneck speed. Formerly, mothers were at the forefront of raising their children, whereas this trend has undergone a metamorphosis in a few countries in which fathers have supplanted their counterparts in this matter. This phenomenon is predominantly taking place due to women’s greater role at work and can therefore cement the relationship between fathers and children.
Males are nursing their children more recently because females are being entrusted with much more significant professions outdoors. Women who used to parent a kid at home have now seeped into miscellaneous organizations, taken over profound positions, and smashed the glass ceiling. This has caused men to take on the role of a babysitter as well as providing room for women to prosper at work. As a case in point, some jobs which were previously regarded masculine such as glamorous seats in the political sector, take, for example PMs or Secretary Generals, are now being filled with disciplined, sturdy, and tenacious women in a few nations. This, consequently, has coaxed fathers into becoming a homestay dad.
Fathers who have been delegated to take care of children at home in the absence of a working mother can substantially improve their relationship with their children. Men have been considered the main breadwinner of the family throughout several decades, and this has all but always left them any time to spend some quality time with their kids at the end of a long, working day. However, if fathers and mothers change this role, fathers will have the opportunity to consolidate a solid relationship with their children by doing the activities which are mutually interesting. For example, mothers seldom fancy playing video games or going to a sports event with their kids, while fathers would be probably more than willing to do so. As a result, such occasions are prone to boost a father-child relationship.
In conclusion, the fact that men are caring for their children at home in some places seems to be a win-win situation. Mothers can gain ground professionally, and fathers find the chance to build up on their relationship with their children.
