World Population
The bar graph gives an indication of how the world population has changed for the countries India, China, USA and Japan. It captures the data for the year 1950 and 2002, and gives a prediction of the world population for 2050.
We can note the population of India has steadily increased from 1950 to 2002 and is predicted to be close to 20% by the year 2050. This is in contrast to the data of China. The world population of China was at around 23% in 1950 and it dropped to 20% in 2002. The percentage of the world population of China is predicted to plunge further to almost 15% by the year 2050.
Both USA and Japan do not have huge percentages of the total world population. USA was around 6% in the year 1950 and would be maintaining the same percentage of 5% for the year 2002 and 2050. While Japan too is below the 5% mark for 1950 and 2002 and will drop to close to 2% by 2050.
All four countries give us varied data on the percentage of the total world population. China, USA and Japan are curbing their population growth and have a decrease in percentage, while India is growing and will have the highest percentage of the total world population in 2050.
