Admissions to Delhi University, which are slated to begin from Tuesday for the traditional three-year programme, will now be a different process from the one outlined earlier under the four-year undergraduate programme.

The admission guidelines released by the Committee of Principals, formed by the University to look into the modalities of conducting and supervising admissions this season, include recommendations that are almost exactly the same as those in place in 2012.

The list of courses and seats allotted for each course will be just like in 2012-13 in all colleges of the University.

The additional eligibility criteria, which was done away with, has also staged a comeback, with colleges free to set them. However, detailed additional eligibility criteria of each college will be uploaded on the college website before the admission process starts and will be prominently displayed on college notice boards. Once notified, the criteria cannot be changed during the entire admission process.

Students will also have to give an undertaking that they are taking admission in an undergraduate course of three-year duration in full consciousness and awareness to the college in which they are taking admissions.

Those who have already applied earlier this month are eligible to take admissions directly in the colleges where they meet cut-offs and additional eligibility criteria.

Additionally, those who have not applied can also go take admissions if they meet the cut-offs, but will be required to fill the University registration form on the payment of Rs.100 for general/OBC students and Rs.50 for SC/ST/PwD students, along with the college admission forms. This registration made in one college will be valid in case the candidate takes admission in another college/course in the subsequent cut-off lists.

Admission procedure for SC/ST and PwD category candidates remains the same, but there will be no additional eligibility criteria.

The admission to BBS and B.A. Hons (Business Economics) will be held on the basis of the criteria already announced for BMS admission 2014-15. However, the best of four subjects will be calculated as per the admission guideline for these courses prevalent in the year 2012-13. Seat distribution will be restored to the 2012-13 status. Centralised counselling will take place as per the schedule.

The procedure for admissions of Kashmiri Migrants, CW, Foreign Students, Sports and ECA remains unaltered. The last date of admissions this year, in case of additional cut-off lists, is July 31.
