The chart illustrates comparisons about the participation of developing and industrialized countries in scientific and educational sectors from 1980 to 1990.

From the first chart it is obvious that average years of schooling in industrialized countries were much higher in comparison with developing countries. Years of schooling in industrialized countries were 8.5 years and just over 10 years in 1980 and 1990 respectively. Whereas on the other hand, this figures were 2.5 years and 3 years in developing countries at the same time.

Regarding the second chart, it is immediately apparent that the number of scientists and technicians increased significantly between 1980 and 1990 in industrialized countries, from 40 per 1000 people to 70 per 1000 people. In contrast, this figure had a slight rise in developing countries.

Third chart shows in industrialized countries expenditures on research and development grew up from 150 US $ billions in 1980 to 350 US $ billions in 1990. Though quite the opposite, costs on these figures decreased over the same period in developing countries.

To sum up, the levels of participation in education and science had magnificent differences in aforementioned countries. It is reasonable that industrialized countries had much higher rates.
