The diagram of 2008 provides an overview concerning the information about energy consumption by fuel in USA between 1980 and 2030.
Overall, it can be seen that least significant level of energy consumed by Nuclear, Solar and Hydropower over the period.
Started from 35 quadrillion units in 1980, the amount of petrol and oil consumption was fluctuating until it reached to 33 quadrillion units in 1995. Then it sharply increased to almost 40 quadrillion units in 2005 and expected that it will continue to grow until it reaches to nearly 47 quadrillion units in the year 2030.
In the first 10 years of the period, consumption of coal was increasing gradually from 16 quadrillion units to 17 quadrillion units. After the year 1990 it experienced a sharp growth until it reached to nearly 23 quadrillion units in 1995 and later it remained constant up to the year in 2005 and it is projected that the consumption level will gradually rise over 25 years until it reaches nearly 30 quadrillion units and be second highest.
In the year 1980 the amount of Natural Gas consumption was 20 quadrillion units. After fluctuation over 28 years it reached to 21 quadrillion units in 2008 and it is expected that it will experience a sharp improvement until it reaches 24 quadrillion units in 2014 and remain constant up to the year of 2030.
On the other hand, energy consumption of Nuclear, Solar and Hydropower started from 4 quadrillion units in 1980 and among these fuels Nuclear steadily increased to 6 quadrillion units in 2005 and it is expected to remained constant till 2030 whereas after some little fluctuations the amount of energy consumption by Solar and Hydropower remained constant till 2005. It is expected that the amount of energy consumption of Solar will continue with 6 quadrillion units till 2030 while Hydropower will continue with 3 quadrillion units in the same period.
