The graph below gives information about international tourist arrivals in different parts of the world.

The line graph summarizes data regarding international tourist arrivals in five different world regions. The data were collected in the years 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005.

During the whole time interval considered in this graph, North America attracted the highest number of international tourist compared to the other regions. From the year 1990, when around 70 million foreigners visited this area, international arrivals steadily increased until the year 2000, when there have been more than 90 million visitors. The same number of tourist was then recorded in 2005.

However, the biggest increment in international visitors was seen in Central and Eastern Europe, where the number of foreign tourists in 1990 - around 30 million - almost tripled by 2005, when 90 million people visited the region. An important improvement was also recorded in South-East Asia, where international arrivals saw a steady rise from 20 to 50 million between the years 1990 and 2005. On the other hand, the graph shows similar trends for Sub-Saharan Africa and South America, where foreigner visits increased from 10 million in 1990 to around 20 million in 2005.

In conclusion, the line graph displays that, while North America seemed to be of greatest attraction for foreign tourist in the considered time period, in 2005 the arrivals in Central and Eastern Europe were comparable to the levels of those in US and Canada.
