The table shows that how different modes of travelling have changed in England from the year 1985 to 2000.

Firstly, there is a significant increase in the average distances traveled by walking, using bicycles, and buses. In another words, English people have not tendency more to walk, ride bikes or even use local bus like the 1985.

By contrast, people tend to drive their cars, use taxies and travel long distance destinations by buses or trains on year 2000. Moreover, through this period of time, other modes of travelling become more popular and the table shows a growth of 135 unites. As a consequence, total number of modes of travelling is also increased from 1985 to 2000.

As a conclusion, it seems that walking and riding bicycles are not more popular than before. Furthermore, public transportation vessels like buses, and train and private ones like cars are becoming more and more conventional devices of travelling.
