The given bar chart illustrates how many vehicles were owned by 1000 people in China, during the period between the year 1987 to 1999.
It shows a steep slow progression initially from 1987 to 1993 with less than 300 in 1987 to approximately 1000 vehicles for 1000 people in 1993, Interestingly, an abrupt rise in the number of vehicles is noticed starting from the year 1995 as it got doubled to reach 2000 vehicles per 1000 people, which as much as the overall rise on vehicles numbers through the preceding 6 years. After which the upstroke continues at a steady rate every two years, with about 3000 vehicles per 1000 people at the year of 1997 comprising 1000 vehicles rise in 2 years, then lastly, it reached it`s highest point with 4500 vehicles for 1000 people at the year 1999.
In conclusion, China car ownership nearly doubled 15 folds in 12 years timescale with a sharp upstroke starting by the year 1995.
