The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010
The bar chart illustrates the various six age categories of Australian people who involved in regular exercise in the year of 2010. The information was provided in percentage
Overall, participation of female in physical activities was higher, while only in younger age group male exceed female.
To begin with, male group experienced some fluctuation as the age increased. In the youngest group (15 to 24), male was accounted 52.8%, which is nearly 5% higher than female. However, this figure decreased by almost 10% and 13% in 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 age group respectively. After that, the proportion of male in physical activities rose slightly and end with 46.7%, which is approximately equal to female.
In term of women age categories, 47.7% was recorded in 15-24 age group, while this percentage rose steadily for next three age group. Similarly, 48.9%,52.5% and 53.3% were recorded for 25 to 34, 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 age group respectively. Whereas, with mild decline in next two age group, the oldest group (65 and over) became the least for doing physical exercise with 47.1%, which is still slightly higher than male.
