The given chart compares the proportion of each gender in Autralia at 6 groups of ages exercising regular physical activity in the year 2010.
Overall, in the year 2010, the percentage of women who did physical activity is higher than men did in all ages, except for ones ranged from 15 to 24 years old.
In 2010, boys at the ages of 15 to 24 exercise physically accounted for 52.8%, but when they got older, they tended to exercise less, this figure for men who are 35 to 44 years old was just 39.5%. By contrast, the number of women doing physical exercise gradually increased from 47,7% when at 15 to 24 years old to 52.5% in the age of 35 to 44.
However, when men turned to over 45 years old, they began to exercise more, in particular, the proportion of male people doing physical activity considerably rose with the highest percentage in this period was 46.7% at the age of 60 and over. Meanwhile, there was a opposite trend in the number of women excerise in these groups of ages. After reaching a peak at 53.3% when at 45 to 54 years old, women started to exercise physically less, this figure for women at these ages fell by 47.1% when they are 65 years old and over.
