The bar graph gives the information about the preferred platforms to keep updated with news of people in different age groups in 2011.
It is clear that the highest percentage of people who aged from 18 to 29 got news from radio. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage of the elderly got news from microblogging.

Looking at the figures from the 10 to 29 age groups, the highest proportion of people who were in the 18 to 29 age group listened to radio to get news, at over 90%, which nearly triples the figure for people who fell into the 10 to 24 age group, at 40%. The percentages of 18- to-29-year-old people and 10-to-17-year-old got news on social networking sites were equal, at 80%. However, more people got news from microblogging in the former than in the latter, at about 35% and 30% respectively.

Turning to older groups, approximately 90% of people in the age range of 30 to 49 listened to news on radio, followed by about 88% in the 50-64 age group, and 85% in the elderly group. The figures for people who aged 30 to 49 years old got news from social networking sites, at 50%, which is 10% higher than that for 50-64-year-old people. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage of people getting news on social networking sites was found in the over 65 age group. The proportion of people keeping updated with news on microblogging ranged from only 10% to under 20%.
